Southwesterly Rigging is a Plymouth-based yacht rigging company providing specialist rigging services across the South Coast and beyond. We combine experience from professional offshore racing with practical, reliable solutions for cruising yachts, racing yachts and multihulls.
Southwesterly Rigging was founded from a background in professional sailing and high-performance yacht rigging. Experience working within offshore racing programmes, including IMOCA and Figaro projects, developed an approach focused on reliability, weight, efficiency and attention to detail.
Today, we bring that experience to a wide range of yachts, from cruising boats requiring dependable rigging and servicing to racing yachts and multihulls requiring bespoke high-performance solutions.

He has worked alongside renowned sailors such as Alex Thompson, Pip Hare, and Boris Herman, and has also sailed within the Figaro class. Paddy's wealth of experience and expertise ensures that SW Rigging consistently provides top-quality marine rigging solutions.

Alex Smerdon, one of our skilled riggers, has an extensive background in dinghy and keelboat racing around the UK. With experience in offshore campaigns on yachts like Cookson 50's and Figaro and Imoca circuits, he brings a wealth of knowledge to SW Rigging.

Paul has a unique background that sets him apart. With a career that began on trawlers and in the fishing industry in Plymouth, as well as working for Marine Projects building Princess Yachts, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team.
